Hi, I'm Ivy.
I’m currently a Senior Interaction Designer at IDEO leveraging my multidisciplinary background in Industrial Design and Psychology to envision and create meaningful and compelling products at the intersection of the physical and digital world. I currently lead Interaction Design in the Digital Shop* at IDEO Palo Alto while helping to bridge the gap between design and development within IDEO at large. Some of my favorite work within IDEO has been with clients such as Planned Parenthood, DARPA, Mercedes-Benz, NFLPA, and Google, among others.
Prior to IDEO, I’ve had a multitude of experience working with early-stage startups. I’ve lead product and visual design on an EHR integrated and HIPAA compliant medical communication tool as well as on a machine-learning platform for the beauty industry. I was also at Hearst Magazines where I worked closely with existing brands such as Esquire and Harper’s Bazaar to design and initiate new product collaborations. While at RISD, I’ve led product design on multiple entrepreneurial endeavors funded by The Venture Lab at Brown University and VentureShips at MIT Sloan.
I hold a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and am an occasional guest lecturer at Stanford d.school and RISD. Both my physical and digital work has been featured in Apple's App Store, WIRED, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Fast Company, among others. Outside of work, I like to make punny postcards that hopefully make people laugh.
